On site individual and group counseling is available to patients and family members. Our approach combines 12 step philosophies with behavior therapies to enhance each individual’s recovery needs in a judgement free environment. Counseling sessions are important to recovery as they provide a safe place to openly talk about the struggles and fears of addiction and begin to recognize and avoid the triggers of relapse. Based on a relationship of trust, counseling provides support, resources and most importantly a realistic relapse prevention plan. Living with addiction, learning new behaviors and
practicing life tools to move forward are the goals of thorough and compassionate counseling at Dr. Brunson’s.

Family counseling is encouraged and available as it can help family members better understand and navigate the complex road to recovery. The support of family and friends is paramount in this lifelong journey.
